Bio

Char Sears is VP of Member Experience and Product Management at Unitus Community Credit Union, responsible for payment strategy, digital transformation, marketing, data intelligence, and experience design. Ms. Sears has been part of the credit union movement for 20 years. Ms. Sears has led strategic planning, instructional design and facilitated training around member experience and relationship-building. She also developed and led a series of classes for small business leaders in the region, and is passionate about bringing financial services to the underserved.

Ms. Sears is the Client Advisory Board Chair for MAP, LLC, dedicated to strengthening board relations. Her expertise in the credit union industry, technology systems, and payment strategy supports the Client Advisory Board’s work to share in-depth insights to the CUSO and other clients. Her leadership centers around the continuous enhancement of processes, products, and technology systems that improve the member experience. 

Named one of 2022’s “Women in Technology” by Finnopotamus, Ms. Sears is a 2023 graduate of Western CUNA Management School. She volunteers as an Executive Mentor at America’s Credit Unions and has been recognized for her active commitment to several credit union committees and leadership networks as well as sits on non-profit boards. She is affiliated with the Young Credit Union Professionals (YCUP) and the National Association of Professional Women. Ms. Sears holds a Human Resource Management Certificate from Portland State University’s Center for Executive and Professional Education.
